Disability Tax Exemption : The diabled person can benefit from ALL the following taxes ; Income Tax Act cap 470, Value Added Tax Act 2013, East African Customs Management Act 2004 (EACMA). Income Tax - under LEGAL NOTICE 36 of March 2010, MONTHLY total income of up to Kes.150,000/- is exempt. In addition the following expenses up to a total of Kes. 50,000/- per MONTH are allowable 1.MEDICAL costs (drugs and treatment). 2. Cost of HOME CARE and personal care 3. Cost of DISABILITY RELATED ASSISTING DEVICES e.g the white cane. YES. The above benefits apply to SELF EMPLOYED or BUSINESS income as well. |
